– Hydroxy naphthol blue disodium, an azo dye and metal indicator for calcium as well as a colorimetric reagent for alkaline earth metal ions (λmax = 650 nm), exhibits a reddish-pink color in calcium ion solutions at pH 12 to 13 and transitions to deep blue when disodium EDTA is introduced [1].
