– Tibesaikosaponin V (TKV), a triterpene diglycoside isolated from the methanol extract of Bupleurum chinense DC roots, effectively inhibits lipid accumulation and triacylglycerol content in adipocytes without inducing cytotoxicity. It suppresses mRNA expression of nuclear transcription factors, including peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor γ (PPARγ) and CCAAT/enhancer binding protein α (C/EBPα), and impedes 3T3-L1 preadipocyte differentiation. Considering these properties, Tibesaikosaponin V is a promising compound for researching obesity and related metabolic disorders [1].
