Product Description

– Dextran sulfate sodium salt (DSS) (MW 5000) is a polymer of dehydrated glucose with an approximate molecular weight of 5000, and its biological activity varies with molecular weight. This compound serves as an inhibitor of complement and coagulation pathways and is a member of the glycosaminoglycan (GAG) family. DSS functions as an anticoagulant, antiviral, and antihyperlipidemic agent. It prevents HIV-1 virus from attaching to host cells and inhibits natural killer (NK) cell-mediated cytotoxicity. Additionally, DSS can suppress instant blood-mediated inflammatory reactions (IBMIR).
