This compound functions as a cell-permeable scorpion toxin and serves as an activator of the TRPA1 ion channel (TRPA1 ion channel), exhibiting its potency with an EC50 at the nanomolar level. It effectively prolongs the channel opening time while reducing Ca2+ permeability. Additionally, WaTx TFA induces thermal hyperalgesia and mechanical allodynia in rats without causing neurogenic inflammation.
