– Hexanoic anhydride is utilized as a reactant in the synthesis of acremomannolipin A. It is applied in the green synthesis of acyclovir ester (acyclovir prodrug) and in the preparation of hexanoyl-modified chitosan nanoparticles by N-acylation of chitosan, as well as chitosan-based polymeric surfactants.
