– BODIPY-Cyclopamine is a fluorescent ligand for the Smoothened (SMO) receptor. SMO activation, which is regulated by Patch protein, is linked to tumorigenesis when excessively activated. Using NanoBRET technology, sensitive detection of the resonance energy transfer between SMO and BODIPY-Cyclopamine can be achieved, facilitating high-throughput screening and kinetic analysis. Additionally, studying the binding sites of BODIPY-Cyclopamine on SMO can aid in discovering SMO-targeted drugs.
