– AIP-II is a macrocyclic peptide signaling molecule produced by Staphylococcus aureus for quorum sensing. It binds to the AgrC-II receptor, regulating the expression of virulence genes within Staphylococcus aureus. Additionally, AIP-II acts as an antagonist to the AgrC-I receptor.
