– (E)-3-Dodecenol serves as a trail pheromone for termites and can be isolated from the whole body and thoracic gland extracts of the fungus-growing termite workers. It can induce directional and recruitment behaviors, although its effect is weaker compared to (Z)-Dodecenol or natural thoracic gland extracts.
