– α-Conotoxin SIA is a selective antagonist of the nicotinic acetylcholine receptor (nAChR), with high affinity specifically for the muscle subtype. It preferentially binds to the α/δ interface in mouse muscle nAChR, whereas in Torpedo nAChR, its affinity is significantly greater for the α/γ interface than for the α/δ interface [1].
