– Nifurpirinol (P-7138) is a nitroaromatic antibiotic and acts as a novel substrate for the bacterial nitroreductase (NTR) enzyme. Nifurpirinol is a more potent proagent compared to Metronidazole to trigger cell-ablation in nitroreductase expressing transgenic models[1].
